Preserving physical memories requires careful handling and clear communication.
Archive Lane’s photo and video digitization process is structured to protect your materials while providing organized, high-quality digital files.

Step 1. Select Your Package

Choose the digitization service that best fits your needs and complete checkout. If you are unsure which option is best, you may contact Archive Lane before placing your order.

Each package has a set number of items. If you are unsure which option is best, you may contact Archive Lane before placing your order.

An item is defined as:

  • 1 video (VHS, MiniDV, etc) or,

  • 1 Batch of 50 photos (loose)

Starter Archive

  • Up to 3 home videos (VHS, MiniDV, etc,), or

  • Up to 3 batches of 50 photos, or

  • Any mix of both

Family Archives

  • Up to 12 home videos (VHS, MiniDV, etc.), or

  • Up to 12 batches of 50 photos, or

  • Any mix of both

Legacy Archives

  • Up to 25 home videos (VHS, MiniDV, etc.), or

  • Up to 25 batches of 50 photos, or

  • Any mix of both

Step 2. Deliver Your Materials

You will select how your items will reach Archive Lane. All materials are logged and tracked from receipt to return.

Standard availability:
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
After-hours drop-off available by appointment.

Mail-In:
Instructions are provided after checkout, including prepaid shipping labels when applicable.

Step 3. Careful Handling & Digitization

Each item is handled individually. Materials remain organized and grouped throughout the process.

  • Photos are scanned at archival-quality resolution

  • Videos are converted to digital format

  • Files are labeled clearly and organized logically

  • Add-on services are completed as requested

Step 4. File Organization & Quality Review

This ensures consistency and usability.

Before delivery:

  • Digital files are reviewed for clarity

  • File naming is standardized

  • Folders are structured for easy access

  • Projects are checked against the original intake

Step 5. Secure Digital Delivery

Delivery occurs only after payment is complete.

Once complete:

  • Remaining balances (if any) are invoiced

  • Digital files are delivered securely

  • You receive confirmation when files are ready

Step 6. Return of Physical Materials

Physical materials are returned using the same method selected at intake. You will receive confirmation once materials are ready or have shipped.

  • Drop-off projects are ready for pickup

  • Mail-in projects are shipped back

Archive Lane does not operate as an automated upload service.
Your materials are handled by a real person from intake through delivery. Because memories deserve attention, not a processing queue.
